Questions

What should a braider's booking policy include?

A deposit amount and how to pay it, how much notice you need to cancel or reschedule, what happens to the deposit for a no-show, a late policy with a grace period, how clients should prep their hair, and whether extra guests can come.

Is a non-refundable deposit fair?

Yes, when it is stated before the client books. Your time is blocked, often for a whole day. Most braiders return the deposit only when the client cancels with enough notice, and keep it for no-shows.

How much should a braiding deposit be?

Many braiders ask $25 to $75, or about 20 to 30 percent of the price. Longer styles that block a whole day usually call for a bigger deposit.

Where should I post my policies?

In your Instagram highlights, your link in bio, and anywhere clients book. On BraidBooked, clients see your policies and tap to agree before they pay the deposit, and the app keeps a record of what they agreed to.
